Independent Driving On Test in London

As a provisionsl licence holder, you probably already know that you will be required to carry out a 10 minute independent driving session with the DSA examiner on your test in London, where you will either be following signs or given a series of intructions to follow.

Make sure you get a lot of practice on this, and you might want to use an approved driving instructor for this as they will know the routes and be able to guide you through some of the more challenging sections or complex junctions.

Remember that the independent driving part of the test is not assessing your memory or ability to navigate, but general driving skills, ability to forward plan and be a safe driver. If you go the wrong way, this okay as long as you do so safely. In particular avoid sudden direction changes as you are most likely going to get a serious fault.
